The Daly river, extending over 40 km from the Daly River crossing to its confluence with Anson Bay, is characterized by various natural features such as snags, sandbars, S-bends, creeks, and rock bars. Anson Bay itself, along with its coastal floodplains, encompasses the Peron Islands, tidal flats, and the adjoining coastal floodplains of the Daly and Reynolds rivers and Docherty’s Creek.
The Daly-Reynolds floodplain system, a significant ecological area, is one of the largest in the Northern Territory, boasting the largest catchment area among the major freshwater floodplain systems in the region. The region is rich with wildlife and waterbirds, making this an ideal location to capture the Territory.
